I’ve always considered myself to be a painter – even though my first serious studies were in photography. For a long time my work was compartmentalized, my photography used for note taking and editorial work, my painting used as a force for abstractly expressing my internal thoughts and feelings. Over time, I came to realize that I am very much a multi-disciplinary artist. Not so much because I like to work with multiple disciplines or mixed-media within one piece, but because I like to work with whatever materials are available to me at any given time. So my portfolio as a whole is multi-disciplinary. I seriously returned to using photography as my main form of creating art in 2007. At first it was economics that forced my hand. Now, I think it was fate, or maybe destiny, that made me return. No matter what the medium, the common theme behind my work is my fascination with time and space. I am interested in tearing through the concept of linear time and discovering new ways to use the universe as an art form. Chaos theory and communication are also common themes in my work. * * * * * The LAGTIME images are straight up photographs. The only manipulation of these images is done with the original video that the images are captured from.
