My work is not much different than the traditional printmaker. Instead, I utilize digital technology as an essential part of my creative process. It is a powerful tool that enables me to manipulate, transform, layer and create distinctive images. My work is entirely original, derived from my own photographs and printed in limited editions on archival paper using archival inks.   Creating art is my way of attempting to understand the ambiguities of reality by layering images that reveal something new. I do it to express personal feelings, yet attempt at the same time to create visual images that have universal appeal. Mother nature — the most exquisite designer in the universe — is my inspiration.  I invite the viewer to search and explore, to enjoy in my work the embodiment of shape, line, color, texture, movement and space, and to hopefully find in that experience some personal pleasure and relevant meaning. I am interested in layers that unexpectedly hint at images that are hidden below. I use acrylic paint thinned with matte medium to achieve this effect. The shapes and colors I use are intuitively derived, based on freedom of expression, energy and experimentation. I’m partial to the use of geometric shapes to define and create “order” in a chaotic world.
