Elitza Nanova lives and works in Berlin as a photographer and graphic designer. Her photographic focus is on movement and structures/abstract photography. She captures the fascination of dance, the incredible possibilities of the human body, its elegance and grace as well as expressiveness using various photographic techniques. She takes on the challenge of depicting movement through a static medium such as photography and allowing it to continue to have an effect. Photographing structures (ice, water, glass, etc.) is another area of Nanova's photographic work. Here, photography loses its depictive character. The titles chosen by the photographer often create an unusual context for the object being photographed and give it a new meaning. Nanova's photos are dynamic, picturesque, playful, colorful, aesthetic and poetic. In her collages, created in Photoshop, Nanova combines dance images and structures and creates her own world of images. By using mythical, biblical and poetic names, Nanova creates a narrative and interpretative framework for her images. Her main theme is freedom, which is often associated with dance and freedom of movement of the body.
