About The Artwork
In 2013, I went with my 92 year old father on a trip back to the Midwest to see where he grew up. Compared to Marin County, where I live now, the part of Indiana we visited is very economically depressed. By placing the tree, drawn in 2016 at the Mill Valley depot plaza, in front of a warehouse, photographed in Rochester, Indiana, I hope to bring a bit of California beauty to a ravaged part of the country.
