About The Artwork

Sunnmøre Triptych II - Panel #2 Part of a series titled: Sunnmøre, Norway. The calm, deep fjords of Western Norway and the soaring majesty of the mountains are an inspiration to me. Before I capture a scene amidst this wonder of nature's creation I cannot help but stare and forget to breathe. This series comes from travelling this area in April 2016, specifically amongst the islands that make up the municipality of Ålesund. Sunnmøre is the southernmost of the three traditional districts of the western Norwegian county of Møre og Romsdal and is home to more than half the population of the county. Fine art or canvas print of one panel of the Saatchi Art listed 'Sunnmøre Triptych II'. Copyright: David Crosby - All licensing considered, contact dave@davecrosbyphotography.co.uk

David Crosby, born and raised in London, but later schooling and family life was away from the hustle and bustle after a relocation to Middle England. After years in a beautiful Georgian stone town with a vibrant community of artistic and creative people to inspire him, he now works listening to the cries of seagulls in a south western Devon seaside town, nature calling constantly. His botanical works are a juxtaposition of the fine arts and the detail afforded by macro photography. A complementary combination of aesthetics and the beauty of natural world geometry. The transition from technically perfect photography to the adoption of a fine art style came naturally from his long term appreciation of this finesse across all genres. When creating, he begins a piece with the final result in mind but is always open to new processes along the way. His expectation is that when people see his work they are able to feel the beauty in the subject that first captured him. Part of his joy in working on a new piece of art is the sense of contentment at being able to recreate visual experiences and the anticipation of future sharing. Whilst working within photography he is reminded that he is capturing a moment in time, be it staged or natural, a literal and graphical snapshot of history. More recently David has also been studying the works of the generative artists, those artists who sculpt computer art with algorithm manipulation. Their ability to map the numeric world to the artistic is inspiring him to create similar and Is looking forward to sharing those pieces.
