Daniel Escalé is a Fine Art Portrait Photographer born and based in Barcelona. He started the practice in his teenage age, he embraced it fully and professionally 10 years ago, to work for well-known theatre of Barcelona and more recently films. Daniel plays with the theatrical codes to approach his characters into an enigmatic staging. Getting a peculiar visual language reinforced by his digital arts skills developed over 25 years. From his early childhood, Daniel reflects a fascination for eclectic characters from classic and contemporary popular culture with Groucho Marx being the leading figure. Daniel's portraits explore the fictional and superlative character we have all in us with a zest of humour and loves designing unique scenery to emphasise them. Life is for Daniel an amazing theatre full of wonderful unknown actors. The most exciting moments for Daniel is when the person being portrayed release the actor inside. For the viewer to wonder, seeing perhaps that part of character in himself, Daniel takes great care to create a light that transform his photographic into a painting feel. "Most of times ideas are curious travellers that come from nowhere after crossing unexpected territories for landing into divergent regions of my brain…. And sometimes, I just got a good idea."
