Rosa Frei is a Swiss photographer, artist, and photo tour leader, based in Morocco since 2007. Enjoying photography during her extensive traveling, it was during her two-year stay in India, that the seed for a professional career in photography was planted. After moving to Morocco, the seed took root. Rosa's greatest passion is the desert. “I miss the green meadows of my home country Switzerland very much,” says Rosa. “But the desert goes far beyond anything I have seen in all my extensive traveling. My fascination for the desert is hard to put into words. I am touched by the immeasurable space, overwhelming silence, and extreme simplicity of the desert landscapes and people. They allow feelings of complete freedom and connection to whatever is. My inspiration comes from this feeling of space and freedom. Life is an unfolding of moments, yet it is our feelings, which connect us to them and make us feel alive. My wish is less to photograph the images before my eyes, but rather to capture these feelings and to communicate them to my audience.” Rosa leads several photo tours and workshops in Morocco each year. The participants not only improve their photography skills, and get exciting photographs, but also get to know the country and people from an insider perspective.
