Dynamic and energetic, this piece plays with light, fragmentation and movement. What may first appear decorative reveals a complex structure built from multiple layers. I’m Ryszard Filipowicz, a Polish visual artist working with photographic material beyond traditional photography. I often describe myself as “a photographer who betrayed photography” - because the camera is only my starting point. The real work happens later, in a digital studio where I build images from many photographs of real textures: rusted metal, bark, sand, stone, weathered surfaces found in nature and industrial landscapes. Through layering and careful transformation, my works become abstract, painterly fotografika, images that sit between photography and painting, meant to live on a wall and keep revealing new details over time. My process is intuitive and slow, focused on visual tension: something that feels familiar, yet stays slightly unnameable. All works are released as limited edition fine-art prints, signed and numbered, with a certificate of authenticity. All of that are produced in the DigiGraphie by Epson standard - a museum-grade printing process valued by collectors for its quality and consistency. After three decades as a creative director in advertising, I now focus fully on my studio practice, building a coherent body of work around “layers” - visually and conceptually - for collectors who trust their eye and enjoy discovering artists early.
