... To the memory of the late Robert Lane, the great Artist, wonderful person and my loved husband. - Halyna Lane As a teenager Robert did oil paintings. Much later after building furniture for the family, He became interested in expressing his creativity through artistic woodturning inspired by many wood artists including Stocksdale, Ellsworth, Jordan, Lamar and others. In the late 90's, Robert moved to Germany and joined an artist consortium with studios in an old factory. In Frankfurt He studied sculpture with Matthias Lotter. Later Rober Lane resided in Passau, Germany where He concentrrated on creating wood sculpture and vessels.. He was active in two art associations, Agon e.V. and Kunstverein Passau. He was interested in presenting wood as an artistic material where form and design play prominent roles. Collectable woodturned objects are becoming more and more popular. He has sold wood art via the internet worldwide. His smaller works can be seen at this site: ?ref=search_shop_redirect
