Born in Chandrahaar, a small beautiful quaint hamlet in Barisal district of undivided India (now Bangladesh) in 1943, life soon moved into West Bengal during the tumultuous days of Indian Independence, grew up in a sublime town of Giridih of erstwhile Bihar region and graduated in Fine Arts from the Government College of Arts and Crafts, Kolkata in 1966. The journey touching myriad emotional happenings brewed into his imagination, which followed into much of his creations. His love for Indian Classical Music and Dance is unparalleled and became his most touched upon subject. Different forms of performing arts, musical instruments are his muse. Participated in numerous exhibitions in India and abroad, in Solos and Group Shows, his works have found their way to the much acclaimed galleries and collections of India as well as Japan, the Americas, England, Italy, Germany and Russia and was specially honoured by Camlin in 1971. Retired as Vice Principal of a reputed educational institution in New Delhi, India, he continues to explore into his ingenious ventures with varied subjects in form of paintings and sculptures.
