My name is Aslan Selçuk Arık. From Anadolu University Fine Arts Department I graduated as an honor student. I workes as an assistant to sculptor H. Ertuğ Atlı on the Bursa Nilüfer Municipality Atatürk memorial sculpture project and the 12 metre stainless steel poetry clock tower projects. In 2017, I started my master’s degree with thesis at Anadolu University Fine Arts Institute. Even though I didn’t realize it at the time, I was trying to understand the way I perceived the world and my relationships with people by doing figurative works, and I was revealing them in an expressionist style by resorting to imaginary ways. I was interested in ancient civilizations and their myths, and as my thesis, I was interested in the symbolism in ancient Egypt’s understanding of sculpture. I can say that the idea of creating a symbolic narrative language with mythological characters in my works is based on my readings of ancient Egypt. In 2021, I graduated from my master’s degree with my thesis titled “Symbolic Expression Form in Ancient Egyptian Sculpture Art”. I took part in the technical team of an Art Residency program established for the cinema and television disciplines with the Katadrom association. I have been producing metal sculptures as a professional independent artist for the last two years in Eskişehir.I have participated in sculpture competitions, fairs and exhibitions since 2022.
