Alessio Ceruti (b. 1980, Varese, Italy) is a multidisciplinary artist whose work explores the relationship between humans and nature through sculpture, painting, video, and installation, both conceptually and abstractly. Self-taught, he began his artistic journey in his father's workshop, collaborating on sculptures for renowned artists. Based between Italy and Indonesia, his practice blends Metals, Plexiglass, Natural and Recycle Materials, Video, Sounds, Lights and Performance into immersive, reflective works. His layered plexiglass paintings, which shift with light and perspective, explore perception, impermanence, and the fluid boundaries between organic and artificial landscapes. Influenced by his experiences as a free diver and his travels in Asia, Ceruti creates pieces that invite viewers to reconnect with the natural world. His work has been exhibited internationally in solo and group exhibitions across Europe, Southeast Asia, and the United States. In addition to his artistic pursuits, as a free diver and scuba diver, he is studying and working on a Coral Gardening Program and conducting experiments on shells. He is also researching how to sustain a coral restoration project in Indonesia, in collaboration with an NGO called Ocean Gardener, through a new way that connects art, science, blue economy, and CO2 offset. He is also researching new recycling materials to reduce pollution, such as Styrofoam.
