Karen Akhikyan is an Armenian artist whose poetic wire sculptures have found resonance across the world. His sculptures belong to private collections in over sixty countries and have been presented in exhibitions across continents. His work captures the quiet tension between strength and vulnerability, where a hard material is shaped into gestures of softness, grace, and emotion. He began his art journey with painting, but over time, sculpture became his deeper language. Wire, with all its resistance and memory, became a way to draw in space. Each piece is shaped by hand, without sketches or plans, allowing the form to emerge gradually through movement and touch. His process remains deeply personal. Each work begins simply, with a line, a gesture, and the slow uncovering of something true. "My best sculpture is still my first one. It was an abstract chair. I don't think I will ever be able to make anything quite like it again. It was complete. It was perfection."
