Obsessed by the mathematical, pictorial and systematic characteristics of the alphabet, Felipe Fernandes sees poetry.
In calligraphy he found an abstract and metalinguistic way of, through emotive algorithms, show his insistent search for the tenuous intersection between rigor and flow, form and function, talent and discipline, ethics and aesthetics, media and message, constraints and freedom, despair and caution, real and imaginary, time and space, presence and distance, noise and silence, reason and emotions, the universe and his inner infinity. Through art-making Felipe became an intimate friend of his pains and tries to take good care of himself.
