The theme of my paintings is the female nude. Characters are embedded in contemporary forms suggestive of the city. One symbol of the city is graffiti and I often draw inspiration from street art. Schematic, simplified outlines of geometric forms in the background contrast with the softer composition of the body. Characters highlighted with a black outline are my nod to the works of Modigliani, whose paintings I admire, and the clarity of images is an expression of my taste for drawing. The texture of my painting I get by using a brush and palette knife. I like strong treatment of a subject, using contrast. The form and color of my images is, in part, influenced by my long-term work as an interior designer.
I currently live and work in Warsaw.
