Raj Sohal

With a background in design from a young age and trained in interior architecture and design my use of media varies from photography to acrylic paintings. I’m a self taught photographer, practicing mainly black and white media, capturing urban landscapes and architecture. Encapsulating an understanding of how atmosphere is created within a space with the use of light and shadows, related to the phenomenological approach in architecture and how it is perceived.
As an artist, having worked with different medias, I settled on painting with acrylics.
Emotions are expressed through my paintings, they are created with the intention of relativity. The means of what I paint is fluid with no idea of what the end result will be. I paint from a personal point, the colours used portray emotions within that moment. My art is individual, yet very subjective and engaging.
