Regan B Phelan

I am self-taught and it has been a joy to have studied art throughout my life, from the great masters to contemporary icons. I find inspiration in art history, from the colours of Chagall to the emotion of Van Gogh. I am inspired by great female artists Carrington, Kahlo, O'Keeffe. It has been my pleasure to visit galleries in Venice, London, Amsterdam. I experiment with powerful expressionism, figurative and the abstract. My dedication has allowed me to produce vibrant, energetic paintings often with a sense of ambiguity.
I have painted since childhood and continue to learn and establish my own flair. I have developed a combination of painting techniques through my appreciation of numerous great artists whose works I admire.
Over the years I have experimented with styles from realism to abstract. This has led me to develop my current flair for expressionism and impressionism in both portraits and landscapes.
I am always endeavouring to develop further.
My artwork is priced to reflect the size, materials, the amount of skill and technique that has gone into an individual painting.

BA hons in Theatre Studies at Mountview Academy in London.

I chose not to study art formally at degree level because I did not want to be guided or influenced in a direction different to the one I felt natural to me. I have always been committed enough to work hard and continue to learn through practical experience.

I have held exhibitions of my work at the Meanwood Institute 2018 and 2019 in Leeds, West Yorkshire.
Future exhibitions will depend upon the relaxation of lock down restrictions.
