Rebecca Marshall

The principle of colour, form, surface, and composition are at the core of my work. A sickly sweet candy land that engages with decoration, mythology, craft, abstraction, creative process and the digital cultural experience.

My paintings are often personal, shifting and changing based on life experiences. I source and collect a wide range of imagery, symbols of beauty and femininity – flowers, kittens, landscapes, motifs that tap into universal nostalgia, connection and emotion. Bringing together seemingly disparate ideas and references to create seemingly random, yet playful works.
