Regia Marinho

Regia Marinho lives and works in New York and California. I began as a calculator and later took up the brush, from a stretch line to a loose line. My art is uniquely emotional, an occasion of spontaneity or intense feeling. I paint, I draw. My work is the reflection of my everyday life; its how I see the world. I usually begin my work through an expressive emotional and continuous line. And then comes colors one after the other without premeditation until Im satisfied with the result. Im very intricate and complicated person. I paint in bright, happy colors; I use acrylic and oils on canvas, besides marker, pencil and watercolor on paper. Im a doodle manic, anywhere I go riding a subway train, a bus or on tables around the city for a cup of coffee. I need to communicate with the world through my lines, figures, dots and dashes. Regia art is this gestural-abstract-semi figurative-colorful never-ending story full of characters, full of emotions. It's a beautiful symphony of lines and colors.
