Ricardo Silva Cordero

Born in valparaiso,Chile 1951.His artistic creation takes place in Guatemala and Barcelona,Spain.Studied art in New York (1964 -1969).Inclined to abstract Expressionism and abstract figurativism. His art is on display at the Museum of Modern Art in Guatemala city, Forma Museum of Modern Art in El Salvador, at the Vicepresidential office in Guatemala (until 2012), Didrichsen Museum, Helsinky, Museum of the Americas, Florida, USA, Guatemalan Embassy, Washington DC, USA, Chilean Embassy, Guatemala city, Guatemala, Art collection of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Republic of Chile, Art collection of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Republic of Guatemala, Art collection of the Central American Bank for Economic Integration, Guatemala city (BCIE), Rozas-Botrán Foundation, Guatemala city as well as in important private collections in Spain,France,Belgium,Switzerland,Luxemburg,Sweden, United States of America,Mexico,Costa Rica, El Salvador, Venezuela, Colombia,Argentina and Guatemala.

Academic background in Psychology,Law and Sociology. Has taught at university level (undergraduate and post-graduate).Currently writing essays on art to be published shortly, dictates coferences on Abstract Art at universities, Foundations, at the National School of Arts in Guatemala city as well as at the National Architectural Association of Guatemala city.
