As a self-taught artist starting at a young age I have created artwork ranging from many styles such as portraiture, traditional landscapes, impressionism and abstract art using a whole spectrum of mediums.
I have found my love with Abstract Expressionism. To me it is complete expressionism; it is purity of formation. Painting this way is a creation of the spiritual that comes from my heart, creating objects but not concrete-objects and the use of colours in a way to create movement and harmony... Like nature, it's a unity of all-encompassing life; the rhythm of life creating the relationship. The common elements of my work include tonal values of colour, rich and pure pigments, layers of glazes with suspended colour all to create depth and emotion. My work applies the fundamental principles set by the original artists of the post world war II Abstract Expressionist movement. My aim is to produce thought provoking art that stimulates interest leaving the narrative to the individual. I want you to see the evolution of nature in my work created by colour and form.
The significance of my work has been created to be a representation of post millennium expressionism.
