Ying Xie

I was born and raised in Southern China, in a charming little town called "Guilin", meaning "the osmanthus forest". My grandfather named me "Ying"-- it's a complex Chinese characters made of four different elements"”water, light, soil, and jade. Carrying my four elements around the world, I'm constantly thinking that it is such a fortune to do what I always wanted to do, such as expressing my ideas through art. After graduated with a BFA degree in illustration from CSULB, I ended up doing illustrations in Southern California!! If you ask me what the essential element in art is, I will probably tell you: "To make emotional connections with the rest of the world around you. It's in your past, present and future"”art is your time machine, and you travel with it."
