Svein Rosseland (b. 1957) is a Norwegian cross-over artist working with photographic art, short film, sound, performance and poetry. After finishing his fine art studies at Aarhus Academy of Art, Denmark, he converted to graphic design. Following years as a graphic designer, he has since 2007 returned to his passion and concentrates on creating art full time. His art is internationaly awarded.
For Rosseland, creating art is an existential issue. To live is to create. When creating art he consider himself as an explorer in a layered land of feelings, experiences, shapes, light and color. He is not shooting a model's or person's exterior, but the expression of their interior self. Rosseland's art is about meetings.
The main focus at the moment, is the soul and beauty of mature women expressed by lived life. Rosseland visually explores their complex and fascinating universe of sensuality, mystique, depth, thoughtfulness, heartiness, strength, and vulnerability. His art will not give you answers, but will hopefully generate questions...
