Ross uses the imposition of systems, sets of absolute rules, to dictate rhythmic forms. Layered across the these gridded systems are painterly improvisations and reactions.
Ross' paintings suggest an internal, poetic landscape; rhythmic, formalised and emotionally eloquent.
