I love walking, when I get a good walking rhythm, my mood shifts to a happier state. When I lived in Los Angeles, I especially liked hiking trails in Malibu Canyon. There were times when I walked, just looking into the distance, not focusing on any partifcular point, striding forward in the sunshine, in the open space and surrounding hills, I was in the zone. When I am completely focused on my art, creating, I experience a blissful state with no sense of time or space, that's the zone too.
Nature has the power to restore and heal us. A few years ago, I returned to Los Angeles from Florida, anxious and drained for a few months after enduring a terrifying hurricane. I lost my passion for creating. Then, one morning during a walk, something magical happened. I was surrounded by amazing flowers I never noticed before, it felt like the world came alive again. That sparked something in me and reignited my passion. I started capturing the beauty of those flowers with my phone, focusing on the vibrant colors and intricate patterns and then reworking them into digital artwork for canvas and paper prints.
