Daily walks through nature are the starting point of my art, the beginning of my artistic engagement with nature. Experiencing the rhythms of nature, feeling the different weather conditions and observing the seasons is an important prerequisite for my art. Finding and collecting is a process that occurs involuntarily, my eye is drawn to a material that literally cries out to be picked up and taken away. In the studio I sift through the material, place it in its individual parts or condense it into various geometric shapes. In a playful use of the material, an idea arises as to how the essence of this material can come into its own, in which context it gets a new meaning, or apparently inconspicuous can be made visible. A new order emerges, which sometimes amazes - but also leads back to the original. The materials are given a new “stage” in the picture, in the object, through which the contextual references can change and associations can arise in the viewer. But conclusions on the original (material) and its spiritual dimensions are also possible, the images can make the cycle of growth and decay clear and tangible.
