SA-PO is the artist team of Sven Sauer and Igor Posavec. In their works they develop illusions that put the viewer’s perception to the test. Again and again, the two artists are thematically pulled to mega-cities such as Tokyo, Shanghai or New York. Their works show symptoms of a society and the tempo of a technology development that has exceeded the measure which a civilization is capable to absorb. The result is an exhilarating rationalist romanticism for a civilization which is obsessed of being addicted to reality…

Sven Sauer is a famous matte-painting Artist, known for his work on international Block-Buster movie productions like Lars von Triers „Melancholie“, J.J.Abrahams „Super8“ or Joseph Kosinskis “Oblivion”.
His work at Martin Scorsese’s Film “Hugo” was awarded with an Academy Award “Oscar”.

His matte-painting production for the HBO Production “Game of Thrones” were awarded with the EMMY Award for “Outstanding Special and Visual Effects” twice .

In 2012, Sven Sauer and Igor Posavec have started with creative development of theater stage sets for the State Theater Wiesbaden. He has created a new visual technology for transforming the theater set space into a new visual experience for the audience.
Both of them are excited by utilising new and different Media technologies for optical illusions, using them to blend virtual effects into real world settings.

Igor Posavec is an illustrious 3D designer, visual developer and lecturer for digital art and technology. His experience includes 20 years of design, game art and product design.
