Sabina Sakoh

Sabina Sakoh processes melancholy and thoughtfulness in her neo-baroque works. It is about the virulent energies of awakening and defending our free democracy. All directions for revolutionary changes are open here with the possibility of using them disruptively in the sense of interrupting, replacing, and destroying. How will it turn out?

Sabina Sakoh studied at the art academy with Hans Baschang. She is one of the most important figurative artists of her generation (Tim Eitel, Neo Rauch, Adrian Ghenie etc.) and her works are represented internationally in numerous exhibitions, museums, the Venice Biennale and collections (Kunsthalle Rostock etc.). She became known beyond the art scene when the German Foreign Minister at the time, Guido Westerwelle, had her painting hung up in his office at the Federal Foreign Office in February 2012. She lives and works in Munich and Berlin.
