These works are from a series of paintings, lithographs and drawings titled, The Intimacy Of Liminal Spaces.

The Intimacy Of Liminal Spaces is a series made during and after a period of three years when I lived in an eighty-acre Welsh oak woodland, off-grid, in the truck and latterly with my new young family. Towards the end of this period, having attempted to consolidate my own experience for some time, I sought to understand how others might interpret their experience of nature. But rather than delve into visual art I wanted to consider prose as a medium for communicating what it is like to live within nature as a part of nature. I was searching for something more literal that wouldn't deflect me from my own visual language. I read the work of Thoreau, Emerson, Macfarlane, Deakin but none spoke to me in the way that I wanted until I came across Kathleen Jamie's Findings, Nan Shepherd's The Living Mountain and Jay Griffiths’ Wild. Prior to this nothing really rang true to my experience, although as a child, many years ago I had been captivated by Mollie Hunter’s The Haunted Mountain.
