Thank you for looking at my work! I’ve come to oil paint after working for several years in marketing and fundraising.

I was lucky enough to work for an international organisation. That gave me the chance to experience different nature, culture, art, light, colour and form, as well as turning me into a travel junkie... 52 countries visited so far and counting!

Now I spend my time on two things I love: dogs and painting. I’m a dog walker part-time, which gives me the chance to get out and experience nature. And I paint the rest of the time. As you’d expect with this background, my themes relate to nature, travel, people and dogs.

I focus on oil painting because I love the vibrancy and viscosity of the medium. I aim to use joyful colour palettes and I’m interested in the indication of form in the mind’s eye.

I studied history at the University of Manchester and then a master’s in 19th century studies at the University of London.

My dissertation focused on the concept of the ‘new woman’ in illustrated magazines of the 1890s, and I’ve always been fascinated by the art of the turn of the 20th century, especially Van Gogh, Monet, Cezanne, Picasso and Hopper.
