I am a former teacher of Social Studies. In addition, I also taught Arts and Crafts to Middle School students and Acrylic painting to seniors. I have had a lifelong passion for Art often weaving it into my work as a teacher, tying it to various cultures around the world. I am known for my
paintings of city life--particularly New York City. Though adept at landscapes, I prefer the hustle and bustle of
people living life. I am also intrigued by the repetitious
lines of various buildings. My art is original and often reflects cultural diversity. I choose subjects which are
uplifting and happy and hope to evoke that same emotion in others. My process is much the same as
the famous artist Norman Rockwell, composing, adding to, and rearranging a series of photographs to form an
original painting.
While majoring in Education and Social Studies, I took
credits in the Arts and graduated from Montclair University
with a 4.0 in Anthropology. I belonged to Pi Gamma Mu,
a National honor society. In early years, attended
Carnegie Institute for Art and in later years studied under Michael Malzone a former student of John Osborne of
the Ridgewood art Institute. Largely self-taught, my interest in art never waned while raising a family.
