1950
Serge François André Armando born in Nice, France to Jean and Alice Armando. Grew up in Nice. Father owned a classic furniture shop. Has one older sister, Danielle.

1956 – 57
Attended public school in Nice.

1957 – 63
Attended Catholic school, les Petits Chanteurs de la Côte d’Azur, travelled singing all around Europe. Started his interest in ancient art and architecture.

1963 – 66
Attended Don Bosco School in Nice. First hand experience with Flux (Ben Vaudrier) and les nouveaux realists, Yves Klein, the blue sky of la Côte d’Azur.

1966 – 68
Attended Ecole des Art Decoratifs, studies architectural and interior design drafting

1968
Attempted to enter les Beaux Arts de Paris but the political unrest on campus changed his path

1968 – 71
Travelled in Europe, working different jobs – vendanges in Provence, ski patrol in the Alps, disc jockey on the Riviera, worked for various interior designers.

Travelled to Americas, met surreal painter Carlo Whalbeck.
