Shagufta finds solace in abstract art, which offers her the space and freedom to explore and express with mixed media to integrate fragments to produce synergy and rhythm. The beauty of art, the interest in nature, and the love of traveling have accompanied Shagufta for many years. These interests are reflected in her work, which is an interplay between flow of colors and texture, nature and abstraction. She uses tools beyond brushes to create harmony between mystery and sophistication, while allowing her emotions to flow through her paintings. You can also see reflection of hope and light in her work.
Shagufta’s work has been published in an international literary journal Cerebration and can be found here. She has also participated in exhibition FRAGMENTS, featuring works by 29 emerging artists from the Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts (NAFA). This exhibition explores the way different abstract artists interpret fragmentation, literally and figuratively.
