Sharon Hall

I am an artist based on the beautiful Wirral peninsular, UK. I graduated with a first class honours degree in Fine Art from Leeds University and an MA in Landscape Design from Manchester University. I then worked as a landscape architect and then as an Arts Development Officer in Cheshire, specialising in disability arts. I returned to drawing and painting in 2012 and now it is my full time occupation.
My drawings and paintings are inspired by living by the sea, in particular the Wirral coast and Dee Estuary. My work reflects the sights of the coastline, flora and fauna and the ever-changing light and skies.
I draw and paint with ink, watercolour and acrylic often outdoors in front of the subject, and sometimes in my studio working from my drawings and photographs. Outdoors, the immediacy of watercolour is ideal when trying to capture fleeting light changes and cloud formations.
Drawing has always been my passion and I aim to ensure that strong draughtsmanship is the foundation for all my work.
