Simona Bazgan

I create spaces: abstract spaces, which must give you the feeling of something real and mysterious at the same time. Trace the fusion between the real and the imaginary: it’s a meeting to be seized, approached and tamed but without losing its mystery. Space is a theme that accompanies me throughout my work and which I approach each time differently.

For several projects already, I've looked for different ways to "build" my pictures, to give them form using rather unexpected materials. I increasingly replace the paint with these objects: I paint with their shape, their texture. Using those objects as pictorial material has become a major technical concern for me.
