Siets, born as Sietske Pelgrum (1986, Enschede), is a Dutch autonomous artist.

Her work explores themes of inner truth, consciousness, transformation, and symbolism.
Working without a predetermined plan, her images arise intuitively, giving shape to inner movement and the unseen. As she describes it:

“Like waking up from a dream. It’s a symbolic diary.”

Her body of work includes digital illustrations, paintings, drawings and mixed media. Influenced by expressionism, surrealism, and symbolism, her often figurative, colorful compositions blend human and animal forms.

With a background in graphic design, photography, and art direction, she developed a parallel, counterbalancing practice: creating without expectations or conceptual frameworks. This intuitive approach revealed a lasting fascination — one that continues to drive her artistic exploration.

Since 2011, she has increasingly focused on her autonomous art practice. In addition to her free work, she creates commissioned pieces that mark personal moments of transition — often centered on themes of birth, death, and inner transformation.
