Simon Barwick

Born in 1964 in Cheshire, England, I reside and work on Megandjin country (Brisbane), Australia

A graduate of QCAD, Griffith, I am an abstract artist working in oils and acrylics and mostly on large scale canvases. My paintings are informed by an intellectual rigour that interrogates the relationships between paint and its ability to amplify our perceptions of the world around us.

I use a combination of alla prima and fast drying medium to create luminosity and spontaneity in my work.

My paintings are held in private collections in the UK, France, Australia, Canada and the US.
