Simon was born in Switzerland and then grew up in New Zealand where he spent his childhood making short films in the bush.
In 1999, when Simon was seventeen, he won the NAMES Panasonic National Short Film Award and then in 2000, the inaugural Young Filmmakers Showcase. He went on to study at the University of Westminster in London.
He has spent the last fifteen years working as a fine art and commercial photographer based first in London, then Sydney, and now New York. His work has been featured in The New York Times, Vice and multiple Vogue editions.
His first book and accompanying exhibition VICINUS was released in 2015. The limited edition fine art photography book project is available at the Gagosian Gallery and Dashwood books NYC.
He received 5 nominations at the Fine Art Photography Awards in 2016 and has received honors at the Webby's in 2016, 2017 and 2018.
