Simon Grind

I work in most materials and mediums.

I am interested in social structures and how they affect one's perception, understanding and behaviour. My work is triggered by various objects, situations and happenings in my own immediate surroundings. It then takes on, what I consider to be, its appropriate shape depending on my ideas around said triggers and the surroundings in which my work will be exhibited.

Drawing on ideas from a wide range of studies - like architecture, sociology, cultural geography, economics and politics - new connotations are constantly made around my subject of interest, turning banal objects like benches and barns into illustrative examples of how social, economical and political structures constantly affects our day-to-day lives.
