“You cannot really claim to see something until you
have photographed it.” – Emile Zola
I don’t take pictures, the picture takes me. Life insists:
my lens opens. Instead of a series of studies of the same object, all of what the subject is becomes fused into
the image.
In this way knowing one, reveals the truth of all.
Singer’s work is in private collections and his exhibitions include his photographs of The East End, Incan Peru
and Belize as well as “The Keepers of the Gates of Joy”, his series of portraits of nightclub bouncers.
He has been a frequent contributor to The East Hampton Star, and is currently a member of the East End Photographers Group.
