Some of Shakun's subject matter is about people's daily routines based on the very raw side of the human pathos. Some are very simple objects or landscape which struck her. Though she works quite deliberately, consciously employing traditional techniques, her unconscious mind seems to be the undisputed project manager where it sends signals to a profusion of experimentation thumb lines. Taking Gauguin, Rousseau, Klimt and other masters as the preferred masters to look upon, with the contingency of their flair melting in the pot where colours, textures, techniques all play elbows to influence her. She dwelves in a profusion of bright and subdued colours all remnicent of our changing moods as we see the world pass by.
