Sol Halabi

I like to think in painting as a mystery to be solved.

When I start a new painting, everything seems unrelated, but as days go by, all the ideas,
images, and materials become a coherent singularity with lots of sense.
The figures, mostly women, are there like a bridge to other place, inside us.

I believe that Art has the power to bring back the silence in times of hurry,
to stop the time...
The mind steps back to understand something, the little mystery present in the piece of art.
Feelings and ideas begin to emerge, come from a rich space...
Our inner space.

Art reminds us that we have our own vision and point of view, and they belong to us.

Art reminds us that we are connected, that we are not empty nor needed… We are full.

Art reminds us that we have the capacity to feel, to imagine, and to reflect on something; and
when we are in silence a whole world appears.
And this is awesome.
