SO is a female artist based in the UK.
SO is an avid traveller, her work inspired by culture, theology, philosophy, scientific research, psychology, mythology and the overheard stories on the bus.
Growing up in Edinburgh, Scotland- the natural raw beauty of the world often features in her work. Her love of nature has evoked a curiosity for the natural and the divine- myth, religion, ceremony and storytelling.
SO grew up surrounded by Art, coming from a bohemian background, she was dancing, recording, and painting at a very young age.
Never sticking to one medium, she likes to take her ideas where they want to grow, distort and bloom.
SO has had her work featured in many galleries, and has won awards for her sculpture, installation, performance and photography.
Having a real affinity with the honest and chance-like processes. Analogue photography and Abstract painting have been lifelong passions. Playing with cross-processing and methods swapping. Combining cyanotypes with abstract mark-making, mono-printing and digital processing, is one of the methods SO likes to realise in her experiments.
