My cyanotypes are inspired by the beauty, fragility and vulnerability of the natural world. They are sometimes quirky, sometimes serious but always curious - the result of research and intrigue.
I create fascinating composite images using collage, digital negatives and natural materials. My images hint at a narrative but leave enough space for the viewer’s own interpretation.
I love that cyanotypes are created in partnership with nature, allowing chance and the weather to collaborate in the process. This links the work closely to the subject matter.
The view from my studio as I’m working is open English countryside and this means I can do the things I love to do – which is make art about nature inspired by what I see.
