I was born on 15 July 1945 in Bareilly-Uttar Pradesh-India. Soon after, my family shifted to New Delhi-India.
My childhood was spent in New Delhi-India.

My schooling was done in New Delhi-India in Delhi Public School-Mathura Road which I joined in 1950 in Nursery class and cleared Senior Cambridge in 1961.
For a brief period in between from July 1957 to December 1958 I studied at Karachi Grammar School-Karachi-Pakistan, when my father, who was in Government of India service, was entrusted with the work of construction of India High Commission building in Karachi-Pakistan.
I graduated from the Indian Institute of Technology-Kharagpur-West Bengal-India in 1967 with Bachelor of Architecture (Honors) in the stream of Architecture and Regional Planning.
All through the schooling period I consistently indulged in painting as I had a natural flair for Arts. In the art subject classes I did well and my paintings were selected for school art exhibitions and won awards also.
The interest in art and painting was carried through while I did Bachelor of Architecture course at the Indian Institute of Technology-Kharagpur. As part of the architecture course there were painting classes and presentation assignments in which I did well. My paintings were selected for the Institute Art Exhibitions where some were awarded also from time to time.

My Solo Painting Exhibition at All India Fine Arts & Crafts Society(AIFACS), 1 Rafi Marg, New Delhi, India from April 23, 2016 to April 28, 2016. It was a 'Retrospective' showcasing my paintings of last 60 years. The Exhibition was inaugurated by the Chairman AIFACS, Mr.Paramjeet Singh and was visited amongst others by the highly revered Sculptor-Artist of India, Padma Bhushan Ram V Sutar. The Solo Painting Exhibition was televised by Door Darshan News channel of India in it's 'Rang Tarang' program.
