SAND PAINTINGS STANKA GOLOB
Igraduated in 2012 at ArtHouse-College of Visual Arts in Ljubljana with the thesis entitled »Sand illusions«
My main area of art interest since 1994 is researching a visual effects of natural colored fine sand.
I am especially interested in the impact of different thickness of sand on the illusion o space on two-dimensional surface. I work only with sand from Slovenian rivers, mountains and quaries. I named my art »sand paintings« since all painting surface is covered only by sand. I'm still in the research phase of this exciting medium, that's why the motives and bas surfaces are so diverse.
I was born in 1952 near Tolmin in Slovenia and started my Fine art career as an self-taught painter and over the last 20 years participated in various art courses and summer schools. I had over 60 solo exhibitions in Slovenia and abroad (Italy, Austria). I also participated in more than 150 group exhibitions and International Fine art events,where I received a number of awards.
