Stefanija Stojanovska

When I was enrolling at the University of Fine Arts, I chose a pedagogical section, because there I could get acquainted with all the branches of art. Although in the end I specialized in sculpture, after finishing the studies I travelled a lot, and because of my constant movement, drawing, collage, photography or painting on canvas was more convenient for me.
What have always been interesting to me are the divided reactions of the people to my art. There are those who consider my art to be sad and heavy, and opposite to them are those who see the hope, the beauty of life with all its creations and even notice that little bit of humour in it. I always try to capture some moments of our lives that make us rethink our actions, and our place in this world. The main figures in my work are the humans, with all their imperfections from one side, and the perfectly balanced nature from the other. By using different textures and materials (string, photo, bitumen...), I’m seeking for new layers and paths that will bring the observer deeper into that moment. Modern life is full, breathless and packed with new pressures. What I try to achieve whit my art, is to inspire those who see my work to look more carefully at the world around them...
