Stella Hill

Born 1971 in Lancashire.My paintings are largely oil on canvas but I also use mixed media to create work inspired by the living natural landscape. Photography has also become an interesting source which is allowing my work to develop.
My observations of the elements and the effect it has on surfaces such as stone , wood and plants becomes the focus point from which I work on.Taking in an expressionistic panoramic view of sky scapes my work magnifies an organic pallette of bright and earthy colours entwined with natures geometric patterns.
I also continue to explore the human landscape of the figure with an ever developing eye.My nude studies depict an outward confidance along with the delicate nature of an internal feeling.Captured in a chosen pose or by the vibrant hue's.
Other peices are from time spent learning new tecniques and show the more playfull ways at which art is made.I find it to restrictive to stick to a particular style or one subject and so my body of work reflects what I find interesting and beautiful.
