My work is of the body but not in a literal way, I try to communicate tension, vulnerability and sensuality that is more than the object. The work is about the relationship it has in the presence of the audience, intimate, delicate, and confrontational.
The subject of my work is volume, process and a physical dialogue with material. The relationship of shape, texture and space, like a well-composed poem, has a structure and meaning that is implicit, rather than explicitly defined. Material and drawing are two focal aspects of my work. I explore volume, texture, line and space in my drawing and consider the sculptural work that I do, a straight derivative of these ideas. I sometimes use found objects in my work that can inherently suggest the content in an abstract language.
