Steve Bartlett born December 1962, in Northampton, to a backdrop of blizzard conditions at the beginning of the swinging decade.....

Schooled in the middleclass suburbs of the provincial Midlands town of Leicester, his spent the early 1970's scribbling images on the backs of exercise books and listening to David Bowie, T Rex and Slade. Then in 1976 he discovered the joys of Alcohol, Girls and Punk Rock and all but gave up on academic studies save for his love of art....................

After brief flirtations with Ska, two tone and the new romantics the 1980's cannoned along and stopped all artistic expression as Thatcherism cast its evil black cloak over proceedings...........

A "˜Gordon Comstrock" era now settled as the pursuit of money became the focus for some 25 years..... Until a dramatic move to New Zealand created the environment for Steve to resurrect his love of Art with a vigour producing the works you see here.

He brings a dry sardonic humour and wry sense of the absurd to his unique work always urging you to take another look
